Sweater Weather: Cozy With A Pop Of Color

EDIT ME 4.JPG

My Look: Sweater // Leather Jacket // Leather Leggings // Over-sized Sunnies

Can y'all believe it's already December?! I feel like 2017 has just flown by in a complete haze, but looking back, I have to say it has been by far one of the best years yet.

As the end of the year approaches and the cold weather starts to settle in, there's always one thing on my mind: Hibernation. Just kidding. (maybe)

Okay, in all seriousness, it's winter, so I'm obviously thinking about different ways to style my favorite sweaters. Unpopular opinion: I used to hate sweaters. I thought they were chunky and unflattering. Now, I can't imagine going a single day of the season without one (yes, I am aware that I am extremely over-dramatic about the cold). So the one thing that's always on my mind is figuring out how to find new ways to style sweaters that make them as flattering as possible.

I love this flowy turtleneck sweater from H&M. It's cute, comfortable and gives a much needed pop of color to grey winter days. It's especially perfect for the holidays, when you want to look trendy but still leave a little extra wiggle room for all that dessert you'll be devouring! ;) I actually found this sweater towards the tail end of the winter season at the beginning of this year for just $12. The red-orange one I'm wearing is a size small and is slightly over-sized on me, and I also bought an XS in lime green because the price just could not be beat!

So how do you make a sweater that's made for comfort, warmth and overeating look chic and edgy? It's all about the accents.

I'm a strong believer in the fact that you can never wear too much (faux) leather. Leather is as 'New York Chic' as it gets. I paired this sweater with leather leggings and a leather jacket to create a sleek silhouette. The contrasting textures of the leather pants and the knit sweater make the ensemble even more dynamic. Throw in a pair of over-sized sunnies, and you are all set — comfy, versatile and edgy!

You can also pair this with a short leather skirt, light ripped jeans, printed pants or a black maxi skirt!
