LOOK BOOK: Jungle Vibes in Tulum

My time in Tulum may be over (for now), but a good outfit is forever. It’s crazy to think how fast a month in Tulum just flew by. Since so many of you have asked about my outfits, I thought I’d just put together a look book with all of my looks, including some of the ones I didn’t get to wear. (Yes, I grossly overpacked, even for a month long trip)

Because I left right after the election, I didn’t have time to do much shopping. I just did one quick Shein haul before I left. Everything else I brought with me to Mexico has been in my closet for years, but I’ve tried to link similar items for you guys. I’m also including links to items from some of my favorite local boutiques in Tulum, in case you'd like to support local businesses in Mexico.

I know it’s been a really tough year for travel and vacations, but I hope this helps you plan your looks for all the 2021 getaways we’ll be taking once we’re all vaccinated!

P.S. All my favorite swimsuits are linked here!

1. Queen of the Jungle Two Piece Set

Obviously had to kick off my stay in Tulum with this perfectly on-theme tropical printed two-piece set. I accessorized with a gold chain link belt, cute earrings, and this faux crocodile skin bag from Express. Some of these pieces are no longer available, but you can find similar items to recreate your own version this look below!

2. Floral Cutout Jumpsuit

I originally ordered this jumpsuit for my ~ pinknic ~ themed birthday picnic earlier this year in July. But unfortunately, I didn’t receive it in time. Now this jumpsuit has carried itself over into my Tulum wardrobe, and I’m so glad it did! The flirty floral vibes, the perfectly placed cutouts, and the forgiving waistline make it the ideal outfit for a delicious lunch in a luxurious treehouse inspired restaurant. Here’s a link to the jumpsuit I’m wearing, and I’ve linked similar ones below!

3. Green Knotted Skirt Two Piece

Okay, so did I only bring two piece sets to Mexico? Yes. Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not. And this green two piece has to be one of my favorites! It’s super comfy and very versatile. It can be dressed up with heels and statement jewelry, or be flirty and casual with sneakers and a denim jacket. I’ve only had it for a few months, and I’ve worn it multiple times already!

4. Taupe Cutout Maxi Dress

Clearly I have a thing for cutouts, and this dress is no exception. I’ve had this one for over 5 years now, but I’ve linked some similar dresses for y’all. I paired this dress with a stunning pair of statement shell earrings I bought from a boutique in Mexico to pull together the look and add a flair of vacay style. But pretty much any bohemian accessory will give your outfit that Tulum vibe.

5. Mint Cropped Tank & Midi Skirt Set

Back at it again with the coordinated sets. By now, you’re probably wondering why I love them so much — it’s entirely because I’m lazy and it saves me the trouble of having to think of a full outfit. And it comes in handy when I’m traveling because I can mix and match my two pieces later on in the trip to maximize outfits!

6. Denim Bustier

I took the mint two piece I wore at the beginning of my trip and paired it with this fabulous denim bustier — and I LOVED the look! The best part about the denim bustier is that it can work with essentially any outfit! So excited to style it again for a more indo-fusion look.

7. Champagne Satin Dress

Satin is all the rage right now, and I can totally see why. It’s elegant, enticing and eye-catching. I’m loving this satin knotted dress and gold pumps look. #AllGoldEverything

8. Mediterranean Halter Two Piece

Not exactly “jungle vibes” but I am obsessed with this set. Every time I put it on, I’m immediately in a tropical mood. In addition to wearing the coordinated set, I’ve also styled both pieces separately on their own! I’m linking my look, as well as a really similar piece from an incredible boutique in Tulum I found during my stay.

Afrodita in Tulum has a solid version of this two piece available in several colors, and also showcases several different ways to tie the top! So regardless if which you end up buying, definitely check out their site.

9. Red Romper Dress

This look is also over 5 years old. In fact, I even wore it one of my first few photoshoots ever when I first started blogging. I wish I could link it for you guys because I always feel AMAZING when I wear it. But I found this one that’s really similar in white, and I’ve linked a few additional ones below.

10. Lace Shorts & Puffy Sleeves

This is definitely my favorite casual yet chic look. Perfect for a casual lunch or dinner, or a shopping day on the strip! I bought these lace shorts from Zara in Spain nearly a decade ago, and it’s still one of my best purchases to date! And this black puff sleeve crop is my new wardrobe staple. I’ve worn in five times already, and I keep thinking of new ways to style it. You may even see it paired with a sari or lengha at the next wedding I attend.

11. Puff Sleeve Crop & Skirt Set

I’ve gotten so many compliments on this outfit every time I’ve worn it, so I know it’s always a definite hit! It’s cute & comfy, the ideal combination for a fun vacation.

Writing this just got me SO excited for all the traveling I’ll be doing in 2021, and I hope it did the same for you. In the mean time, happy shopping, my loves! xox (If you end up recreating any of these looks, make sure to tag me so I can share.)
