Ashni Eats World: October Restaurant List

Fall is officially here! What better way to enjoy this incredible weather than alongside incredible food… With that being said, here are some of my favorite restaurants to enjoy this month!

Buddha Bar

This iconic Paris restaurant just opened up in New York City. It gives off modern Tao vibes with even better food and service. The bartender upstairs will make you a personalized cocktails (or mocktail for my sober curious friends!) that will pair perfectly with my menu favorites which were the mapo tofu, bao buns, truffle fried rice, and the veggie sushi!

La Laterna Di Vittorio

Lasagna flights. Enough said.

If you’re a total pasta fiend and completely indecisive like me and want to try a little of everything, stop what you’re doing and go to La Laterna Di Vittoria. A favorite from when I worked near NYU Law School, La Laterna offers Lasagna flights where you can order smaller portions of up to four different kinds of lasagna! And the best part is that they even have a fully vegetarian lasagna flight. It’s also a perfect date spot because of the super cozy atmosphere and cute outdoor garden!

Cecconi’s Dumbo

Cecconi’s is known for having one of New York City’s most iconic views. Located in Dumbo, Fall is the best time to enjoy a warm, melty slice of pizza while taking in the Brooklyn Bridge and skyline views.

Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde is a popular NYC bar inspired by the life of its namesake, famous Irish playwright, Oscar Wilde. With gorgeous high ceilings, walls decorated from top to bottom with mirrors, stained glass and marble, Oscar Wilde seemingly transports you to an Irish castle in the 1800s. A popular happy hour and brunch spot for young professionals, if you visit Oscar Wilde in the month of October, you’ll see the whole place decked out in over the top Halloween decor. And just in time for the Fall/Winter seasons, they’ve introduced some new food items to their menu. I’ll definitely be stopping by again for their truffle gnocchi!

Gitano

I was suffering from some extreme Tulum nostalgia, since this time last year I was getting ready for my month long adventure in Mexico. So of course, I had to go to Gitano. As you walk into Gitano, it’s almost easy to forget that you’re still in New York City with the palm trees, disco balls, tents and Tulum-inspired decor. Gitano is the perfect place for an escape, especially before the weather gets too chilly! While the ambience is definitely the main selling point, they just recently revamped their menu which has stepped up the dining experience here as well.

The Bao

I’m a huge fan of hole-in-the-wall restaurants with incredible food, and of course St. Marks does it again with The Bao. It’s the perfect place to grab either a quick bite or a full meal! This restaurant is super vegetarian friendly, with many flavorful vegetable dishes — but for once, I’m here mostly for the dessert. The nutella dumplings are just SO good.
