Ashni Eats World: July NYC Restaurant List
While some claimed that New York City would never be the same after the pandemic, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Just as expected, NYC and its restaurant scene are back and thriving, and just in time for summer! Not sure where to go first? I got you covered! Here’s my July hit list of NYC restaurants:
1. Electric Lemon
If you’re headed to NYC this summer, you will undoubtedly want to visit a rooftop bar. Rooftop bars are super popular in this city because of the fantastic views — and Electric Lemon is one of the best spots. This elevated rooftop experience has great food and stunning sunset views. I recommend trying the Vegan Banh Mi. Thank me later!
2. Chinese Tuxedo
For your sake, if you haven’t already been to Chinese Tuxedo - let’s get you there ASAP. The ambiance of this restaurant is unique because the building used to be an Opera house. They serve modern Chinese food with flavors I simply cannot get enough of.
3. Sona
If you know me, you know that I love to find the best new restaurant. Well, Sona definitely fits the bill. This eatery offers high-end Indian cuisine. In the few months they have been open, I’ve gone back a handful of times because I just can’t get enough of the gol gappa shots and gruyere cheese dosa.
4. Ladurée
Looking for cute Instagram photos, anyone? Laduree has the cutest courtyard ever that is practically made for adorable pictures with your friends. Summer in NYC requires a visit to Laduree! Naturally, I ordered every rose-flavored thing on the menu: rose latte, rose croissant, rose macarons, and the rose pound cake. I will 100% be back for more!
5. Lola Taverna
This hot spot for Greek food in NYC recently became even more popular via TikTok fame. The floral decor and cocktails make this Soho restaurant a must-visit to cool off from that NYC summer heat. Their brunch menu is divine, but be sure to snag a reservation first!
6. Planta Queen
If you’re in need of a new vegan go to or just some bomb cocktails make your way on over to Planta Queen. I was obsessed with their bang bang broccoli, sweet corn dim sum, and the dan dan noodles.
7. The Tyger
If I had to choose my new favorite restaurant in NYC, it would have to be this one. Everything on the menu is incredible and so flavorful. If you catch me here every weekend, don’t be surprised!
8. The Gully
I came for the paneer tikka mac and cheese, stayed for the bomb Bollywood beats. Anywhere that is blasting 90’s Bollywood music obviously has my heart. And I’d be lying if I said the gulab jamun cheesecake isn’t my favorite guilty pleasure.
9. Pinto Garden
This is another restaurant that gained some newfound popularity thanks to TikTok. Pinto Garden uses ingredients from local vendors to create seasonally changing authentic Thai dishes. The ambiance (and the dishes) are so colorful and aesthetically pleasing.
10. La Noxe
We’re going to end this list of must-visit restaurant recommendations with a dope speakeasy and secret bar in the subway of all places! Don’t let the sound of a restaurant in the NYC subway fool you — this space is super cool and has amazing cocktails + food. You’ll love the intimate vibe of this bar; that just screams New York City.
